• Christopher Hylen

      President & CEO

      Christopher Hylen has served as our president and chief executive officer since August 2017. Chris served as president and chief executive officer of GetGo, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Citrix Systems, Inc. from April 2016 until GetGo was separated from Citrix and subsequently acquired by LogMeIn, Inc. in January 2017. In this role, Chris was responsible for overseeing all business activities related to Citrix’s GoTo family of products. From July 2013 to March 2016, Chris served as senior vice president and general manager, Mobility Apps of Citrix and was responsible for strategy and business operations of Citrix’s former Mobility Apps business unit consisting of Citrix’s GoTo family of products, including its communications cloud and workflow cloud products. Citrix is a publicly-traded provider of comprehensive secure digital workspaces that unify apps, data and services.

      Prior to joining Citrix, Chris was the senior vice president and general manager of Payment Solutions at Intuit, Inc., a publicly-traded provider of business and financial management solutions for small business, consumers and accounting professionals, from August 2010 to July 2013. Chris also served as Intuit’s vice president, Marketing Small Business Group from April 2010 to August 2010 and its vice president Growth, Intuit Payment Solutions from September 2006 to May 2010. Chris served as a member of the Board of the ADT Corporation, a publicly-traded security and alarm monitoring services company, from January 2015 until it was acquired by Apollo Global Management in February 2016. Chris holds a B.S. in Engineering from Widener University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School of Management.

      As CFO of Imperva, Terry Schmid is responsible for finance, accounting, and facilities functions. Terry brings more than 20 years of financial leadership to the company, including CFO roles in both public and private companies. His private company experience includes both venture backed and private equity owned enterprises. Prior to joining Imperva, Terry was CFO at Coremetrics which was acquired by IBM. Prior to Coremetrics, Terry was the EVP and CFO at Enterasys Networks. His earlier experience includes CFO at ONI Systems, Turnstone Systems, and The 3DO Company, as well as financial and consulting positions with Electronic Arts, Sun Microsystems, and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a BA in Economics from the University of San Francisco.

      Brett Hooper joined Imperva as Senior Vice President of People in June 2015. In this role, Brett oversees the development and implementation of the global human resources function at Imperva, including talent acquisition, human capital development, workforce planning and administration. Mr. Hooper joins Imperva from JDS Uniphase where he was SVP, Human Resources from 2006 to 2015 charged with successfully evolving the company’s talent strategy, including hiring, development, succession planning and performance evaluation, by prioritizing HR programs that aligned with business goals and improved employee productivity and engagement. Prior to that he served in the same capacity for Credence Systems Corporation, which he joined through the 2004 acquisition of NPTest where he held the role of VP, Human Resources and Communications. Earlier in his career, Hooper served in a variety of roles at Schlumberger including Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Investor Relations, and Human Resources Management. He holds a bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas, Austin.

      Mike Mooney joined Imperva as Chief Revenue Officer in October 2014. He is responsible for Imperva’s worldwide regional and channel sales, as well as for sales operations, inside sales, sales development, maintenance and renewal functions. Mike joins Imperva from HP Autonomy. He started his tenure at Autonomy as Senior Vice President of Americas Field Operations, a role he held from 2006 through 2012, a year after the HP acquisition. Most recently, Mooney was responsible for Information Analytics and Big Data revenue, as well as for OEM and Federal revenue across all Autonomy divisions. Mike joined HP Autonomy in 2005 as a result of its acquisition of Verity, where he served in various executive positions, most recently as Senior Vice President of Americas Field Operations, from 2000-2005. Before Verity, Mike was Vice President of Sales for Adaptive Media; Vice President of Western Sales for Versant; and held sales and sales management roles for Alantec and CMC.

      Sunil Nagdev has served as Senior Vice President and GM of Imperva Products and Services since April 2017. He is responsible for driving research and development, operations, product management, services and support teams at Imperva. Sunil joined Imperva in December 2014 marking his second time with company. From April 2008 to January 2011 he was Imperva’s Vice President, Worldwide Services. Between Imperva appointments, Sunil was Senior Vice President, Global Services and Support with Coverity Inc., a provider of software quality and security testing solutions. Prior to his roles at Coverity and Imperva, Sunil was Vice President, Worldwide Professional Services and Technical Support for Tablus Inc., a leading provider of Data Loss Prevention solutions acquired by EMC; and Senior Vice President of Worldwide Professional Services and Technical Support with Verity Inc., and then with Autonomy Ltd. after its acquisition of Verity. Sunil holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Chico State University.

      SVP, General Counsel

      Trâm T. Phi has served as our Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since February 2012. From August 2011 to February 2012, she served as our Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Ms. Phi served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of ArcSight, Inc., a provider of enterprise threat and risk management solutions, from January 2006 until the acquisition of ArcSight by Hewlett-Packard Company in October 2010, and then as general counsel of HP Software, Security until August 2011. From September 2002 to May 2005, Ms. Phi served in various positions at InVision Technologies, Inc., a manufacturer of explosives detection systems, most recently as Senior Vice President and General Counsel, including following the acquisition of InVision by General Electric Company in December 2004. Ms. Phi holds a B.A. in political science from San Jose State University and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law (Boalt Hall).

    • Terry Ray, CTO

      Chief Technology Officer

      Terry Ray has served as Chief Technology Officer for Imperva since July 2017. He is responsible for developing and articulating the company’s technical vision and strategy. Previously he served as Imperva’s Chief Product Strategist where he consulted directly with strategic global customers on industry best practices, threat landscape, data security implementation and industry regulations. He continues to operate as an executive sponsor to strategic customers who benefit from having a bridge between both company’s executive teams. He was Imperva’s first U.S.-based employee and has worked hundreds of data security projects to meet the security requirements of customers and regulators from every industry. Terry is a frequent speaker for RSA, Gartner, ISSA, OWASP, ISACA, IANS, CDM, NLIT, and other organizations worldwide. He also provides expert commentary to the media and has been quoted in Security Week, SC Magazine, CBS News and the BBC. He holds a B.A. in Management Information Systems from the University of North Texas.

    • Amichai Shulman, CTO

      Co-founder and Chief Scientist

      Amichai Shulman is Co-founder and Chief Scientist of Imperva responsible for keeping the company at the forefront of emerging technologies. Previously, he served at CTO where he headed the internationally recognized research organization focused on security and compliance. Amichai regularly lectures at trade conferences and delivers monthly eSeminars. The press draws on Amichai’s expertise to comment on breaking news including security breaches, mitigation techniques, and related technologies. Under his direction, the Imperva research team has been credited with the discovery of serious vulnerabilities in commercial Web application and database products including Oracle, IBM, and Microsoft. Amichai has appeared on CNN, in the New York Times, USA Today, Washington Post, BBC, and Sydney Morning Herald. Prior to Imperva, Amichai was founder and CTO of Edvice Security Services Ltd., a consulting group that provided application and database security services to major financial institutions including Web and database penetration testing and security strategy, design, and implementation. Amichai served in the Israel Defense Forces, where he led a team that identified new computer attack and defense techniques. He has B.Sc and Master’s Degrees in Computer Science from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.

      Amichai currently serves as an advisor at YL Ventures and is an investor and board member at a variety of cyber security startups.

    • Anthony Bettencourt

      Chairman of the Board

      Anthony Bettencourt has served as a board member since August 2014, and served as our president and chief executive officer from August 2014 to August 2017. He has been Chairman of the Board since October 2015. Anthony previously served as chief executive officer of Coverity Inc., a privately held company that develops and markets development testing solutions that assist software developers in detecting and fixing quality and security problems from November 2010 to March 2014, following Coverity’s acquisition by Synopsys, Inc. From January 2006 to October 2009, Anthony served as Senior Vice President of Special Projects at Autonomy Corporation plc. From 2003 to 2005, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Verity Inc., an enterprise search company and led the company through its acquisition by Autonomy in 2005.

      Anthony currently serves as a member of the board of directors for Formation Data Systems, and he previously served on the board of Versant. Anthony holds a B.A. in English from Santa Clara University.

    • Charles Giancarlo

      Silver Lake Partners

      Charles Giancarlo has served as a director since May 2013. He is a private investor and management advisor to high tech companies. He served as a Senior Advisor to Silver Lake Partners, a private investment firm that focuses on the technology, technology-enabled, and related growth industries, from 2013 to 2015, and served as a managing director of Silver Lake Partners from 2008 to 2013.

      Prior to joining Silver Lake in 2008, he was employed by Cisco Systems, Inc., a provider of communications and networking products and services, which he joined in 1993 and where he was Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer from 2004 to 2007. Charles is also on the boards of directors of Accenture plc, a management consulting business, Avaya, Inc., a provider of business collaboration and communications solutions, ServiceNow, a provider of IT services, and various private companies. He served on the board of directors of Netflix, Inc., an online movie rental subscription service, from April 2007 until May 2012, and Skype, a provider of internet communications software, from 2009 to 2011.

      Charles holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Brown University, a master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and an M.B.A. from Harvard University.

    • Albert A. "Rocky" Pimentel

      Albert A. Pimentel has served as a member of our board of directors since June 2010. From January 2016 until October 2016, Mr. Pimentel served as Executive Vice President for Seagate Technology PLC, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of storage devices. From October 2013 until January 2016, Mr. Pimentel served as Seagate’s President, Global Markets & Customers, and he served as its Executive Vice President, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer from April 2011 until October 2013. From March 2009 until April 2011, Mr. Pimentel served on Seagate’s board of directors. Mr. Pimentel has served as a board member of Xilinx Corporation since August 2010, and as a board member of Lifelock, Inc. since August 2011. From May 2008 to August 2010, Mr. Pimentel served as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for McAfee, Inc., a leading company in the field of consumer and enterprise digital security products. Mr. Pimentel holds a B.S. in Commerce from Santa Clara University. He is a Certified Public Accountant, inactive, in the State of California.

    • Allan Tessler

      CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of International Financial Group, Inc.

      Allan Tessler has served as a member of our board of directors since February 2015, and as lead independent director since October 2015. He is currently a member of the board of directors of online brokerage firm TD Ameritrade, and lead independent director, chair of the finance and nominating and governance committees and member of the audit and executive committees of L Brands, Inc., parent company to the Victoria’s Secret, PINK, Bath & Body Works, La Senza and Henri Bendel consumer brands. Allan was also Chairman of the Board of Epoch Investment Partners, Inc.; Board Member and chairman Emeritus of the Hudson Institute; and member of the Board of Governors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Since 1987, he has been Chairman of the Board and CEO of International Financial Group, Inc., an international merchant banking firm. Prior to this, Allan was CEO of J Net Enterprises (now Epoch Investment Partners); co-Chairman and co-CEO of Data Broadcasting Corporation (now Interactive Data Corporation); Chairman of Enhance Financial Services Group, Inc.; and Chairman and principal shareholder of Great Dane Holdings. He is also a board member of a number of private companies with interests in the medical device and drug areas. Allan holds a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and an L.L.B. from Cornell University Law School.

    • James Tolonen

      James Tolonen has served as a director since July 2012. James was senior vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer at Business Objects, S.A. from January 2003 until its acquisition by SAP AG in January 2008. In this capacity, he managed the global finance, tax, information technology, and administrative organizations of Business Objects. Prior to his employment by Business Objects, James held senior executive positions at IGN Entertainment, Inc. (a subsidiary of News Corporation), CyberMedia, Inc. and Novell, Inc., and served on the boards of directors of Blue Coat Systems, Inc., CyberMedia, Inc., IGN Entertainment, Inc., and Taleo Corporation. James serves on the board of directors of The Coral Reef Alliance, a not for profit entity, MobileIron and New Relic. James holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan.

    • Geraldine “Gerri” Elliott

      Gerri Elliott has served as a member of our board of directors since August 2015. She currently serves on the boards of directors of leading retail companies, including Bed, Bath and Beyond, Inc., Whirlpool Corporation and Charlotte Russe. Gerri was most recently Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer of Juniper Networks where she also held various executive management roles from 2009 to 2014. Prior to joining Juniper, Gerri held a series of senior executive positions at Microsoft from 2001 to 2009. In her most recent role as Vice President, World Wide Public Sector, she led teams of more than 2,000 sales and marketing professionals in the government, education and healthcare sectors across more than 100 countries where she grew the business by almost 100 percent in three years. Before joining Microsoft, she spent 22 years at IBM Corporation, where she held executive and management positions spanning sales, services, consulting, strategy development, and product management in both North America and the Asia Pacific region.

      Gerri is on the Advisory Board for BoardList, the Silicon Valley initiative to increase the number of women on tech boards, and is the founder of Broadrooms, a website dedicated to women who serve or want to serve on corporate boards. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from New York University.

    • Randall Spratt

      Randall Spratt has served as a member of our board of directors since May 2016. Randy held various positions at McKesson Corporation from 1999 until 2015, most recently as its Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). As CIO, Randy was responsible for all internal technology initiatives and operations, and as the company’s first-ever CTO, he guided the overall technology direction for healthcare technology products and provided support for application development processes. Prior to serving as CIO-CTO, Randy served as Chief Process Officer for McKesson Provider Technologies, McKesson’s medical software and services division in Georgia, where he managed business development, information technology, strategic planning and technology services. Prior to joining McKesson, he spent 25 years developing healthcare information technology and managing businesses delivering those innovations to the healthcare market.

      Randy served on the board of directors of Code Green Networks, Inc., a privately held provider of data loss prevention solutions from 2009 until 2015, and served on the advisory boards of Living Goods, a non-profit dedicated to delivering improved care in the developing world from 2010 until 2016, and the venture capital firms of Sierra Ventures and Canaan Partners. He holds a B.S. in Biology, with a minor in Computer Science, from the University of Utah.

    • Roger Sippl

      Roger Sippl joined the board of directors in December 2016. A Silicon Valley software pioneer, entrepreneur and innovator, Roger is the managing partner at Sippl Investments, LLC. As founder and CEO, Sippl led Informix Software in pioneering SQL relational databases and took the company public; it is now part of IBM. He was co-founder and chairman of The Vantive Corporation, a leader in customer relationship management (CRM), which went public before becoming part of PeopleSoft/Oracle. As founder and CEO of Visigenic Software, he helped pioneer distributed object computing and the creation of the application server; Visigenic was acquired by Borland after becoming a public company. Sippl served as chairman of Elastic Intelligence which developed a real-time, SQL-based platform-as-a-service for connecting to SaaS-based data; it was acquired by Intuit.

      Sippl currently serves on the boards of several private companies, and he served on the board of SolarWinds until February 2016. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of California at Berkeley.
